Apple Crumble with Oats
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup regular rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons whole-wheat pastry flour
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar, separate
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cold butter, cut into pieces
- 2 medium Golden Delicious apples, cored and cut into thin wedges
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 8oz frozen yogurt or low-fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a medium bowl combine oats, flour, 2 tablespoons brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix with fork until combined. Add the butter and work in with your fingers until the mixture begins to form clumps.
- In a large bowl, toss the apples with the water, lemon juice, and remaining brown sugar. Transfer apple mixture to a 9-inch pie plate. Spinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until topping is golden and apples are tender.
- Enjoy! Try eating it warm with a scoop of ice cream!
