Fishing Camp at Sampson County YMCA

Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure at our Fishing Summer Camp! Campers will learn the fundamentals of fishing in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Through hands-on instruction, participants will explore different fishing techniques, identify common fish species, and learn about aquatic ecosystems and conservation.

Each day includes guided fishing sessions throughout Sampson County and beyond, casting practice, knot tying, bait selection, and fish handling—all led by experienced instructors. Campers will also enjoy nature walks, teamwork activities, and water safety lessons. Whether your child is a beginner or has fished before, our camp helps build confidence, patience, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.

Perfect for young anglers who love nature, adventure, and making new friends!

Financial Assistance

At the Y, we think summer fun, new friends and positive role models should be available to every child. That's why we provide scholarships to families who need help making camp a reality. If your family needs a little help, scholarship applications are available online and are kept completely confidential. Funds are made possible because of the generous donations made through our Annual Giving Campaign. You can send a child to camp by making a tax-deductible gift online to the Y's Annual Giving Campaign.
