Throughout the Y's history, we have been called upon to provide critical services during challenging or uncertain times. When state and local restrictions forced us to temporarily suspend operations in March, we quickly pivoted our staff and branches to focus on supporting our community and those most heavily impacted by coronavirus - because that's who we are!
106 Families provided with essential child care during the Stay at Home order
59,375 Meals delivered to hungry children while schools were out
815 Calls made to seniors and others at risk to lend help and reduce loneliness
72 Units of Blood given at blood drives hosted by the YMCA
Donors like you have made so much possible at our YMCA. You’ve helped send kids to camp, provide free swim lessons, support cancer survivors through LIVESTRONG and so much more.
Now, more than ever, your gift is critical to sustain the Y and support those most impacted by COVID-19.
Rising unemployment. Out of school learning loss. New educational models. Increased support needs for working families. Social isolation. A public health crisis. In this unprecedented time, our community and the most vulnerable among us need the Y.
In the coming months, we expect to see a significant increase in the number of children, adults, and families who need financial assistance to participate in Y programs and services. Be a part of the change and the support system that will help heal our community. Your gift provides opportunities and access for all.
Our Y has been considerably impacted by COVID-19. We’ve suffered significant economic loss and setbacks while suspending operations and delivering limited services. Our fitness facilities were closed for 5 months, and while our team did what they could to continue offering child care, extended learning, swimming, outdoor sports and exercise throughout the pandemic - we are not sustainable without our membership.
While many members chose to stay with us, we have still faced significant loss. Membership has dropped 50% and programs are operating at just 50% capacity. Now more than ever, we need your support to keep our Y fully operational next year.
Now more than ever, your donations matter. 100% of funds raised for our Annual Campaign will be utilized to meet the greatest needs of our community and our YMCA. We appreciate your tax-deductible gift to the YMCA as we work through this crisis together.
