An expanded Midtown YMCA would help close the health gap with affordable programs and services through financial assistance. |

The number of mentally unhealthy days in the county has increased by 30% in the past decade. |
The Y offers opportunities for socialization and camaraderie with others, creating environments that help people feel an increased sense of belonging and affiliation. |

There are 7,700 children under 15 living in the Midtown area. Currently the Midtown YMCA’s programs account for 26% of the total Midtown area childcare provided. |
The YMCA will have the capacity to double enrollment in preschool, afterschool and summer camp programs at this site. |

By adding an aquatics facility, the Y will double its capacity to offer free water safety and swim lessons to children and adults throughout the year. |

Providing structured programming out-of-school hours reduces the likelihood of youth engaging in or becoming victims of delinquent behavior. |
Expanding the Midtown YMCA will double our capacity to serve youth and teens through childcare, sports, swimming, enrichment, and career development programs. |

The Y expects to hire more than 50 part-time and full-time employees with this expansion. |
