Follow the Midtown YMCA Transformation
We are excited to bring our members and community along throughout construction. Construction will begin in August 2026, and take approximately 15 months to complete.
The Midtown YMCA will remain open and operational throughout construction of our new 48,000-square-foot expansion, with only limited interruptions to programs and services as work progresses.
The Bruce B. Cameron Foundation is partnering with the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina to help bring the Midtown YMCA expansion project to life through a special community matching gift challenge.
To inspire community participation and accelerate the impact of the campaign, the Foundation will match every new gift dollar-for-dollar — up to $1 million.
Every contribution made through the community matching gift challenge will be doubled in impact, helping expand access to aquatics, youth development programs, health and wellness opportunities, and affordable child care for generations to come.
The 1887 Society honors visionary donors who are helping shape the future of the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina through philanthropic leadership and investment in the Midtown YMCA expansion campaign.
Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who make a cumulative gift or pledge of $1,000 or more are recognized as members of The 1887 Society — named in honor of the founding year of the YMCA movement in North Carolina.
Membership in The 1887 Society reflects a shared commitment to strengthening our community and ensuring future generations have access to programs and spaces that help all people learn, grow, and thrive.

You can make a one-time or reoccurring online donation by selecting the "Donate Online" link, or you can fill out an online pledge form to set up a payment plan.
If you would like to mail in a donation to the YMCA, please make checks out to the "YMCA of Southeastern NC" and send to PO Box 3467 Wilmington, NC 28406 with a note in the memo line.
You are welcome to drop off a donation at one of our YMCA branches during regular operating hours. Just stop by the front desk and let our team know that you'd like to make a donation so we can assist you.
