Spring brings a new season of growth and rebirth, as it does in our renovation project.

The demolition phase is now completed at 2710 Market Street and we are beginning to see new interior walls go up all the floors have now been completed. Roofing is in its final stages and windows and doorways are being installed. It is exciting to begin seeing our vision come together! Take a look at some of the work being done below:

Youth Wing Lobby

This is a view of the new Youth Lobby where you can see walls going up for three classrooms. The Youth Wing will have its own entrance (doorway to the right) for a safer drop-off and pick-up area for kids and parents in our Afterschool, Summer Camp and Preschool programs. To the left of the photo is the main hallway leading out to the rest of the Y. The hallway will include an entryway to the gymnasium so that kids can have their own access to the gym.

Cardio Area

This is the new upstairs cardio area which will overlook the gymnasium. This photo was taken at the top of a new stairwell located off the main hallway to allow easy access to wellness areas from the new entrance.

Strength Area & Group Exercise Studios

Located directly behind the cardio area will be an open area for our strength and free weight equipment. The picture above shows walls going up for our four group exercise studios- which will be much larger than the studios at our Express Y and Midtown YMCA branches. These areas will feature lots of windows and natural lighting.

New Main Entrance

The floor is in place for the new main entrance! You can see the main hallway will be much wider and taller than it was in the old facility, and on the left-hand side you will see the area designated for our Child Watch and Kids Adventure Zones- close to the entrance for easy drop-off and pick-up for families.
