YMCA's Cape Fear Aquatic Club Breaks Multiple Records at Nationals

The YMCA of Southeastern NC’s Cape Fear Aquatic Club senior swimmers wrapped up their most successful long course season with some fast swimming at 2018 YMCA National Long Course Championship. Several team records were broken at this prestigious national competition held at College Park Maryland.

The Y’s Cape Fear Aquatic Club was represented by Patrick Furbay, Will Parker, Kate Pottle and Elizabeth Teeters over the four day meet where all four swimmers posted personal best times. Team records were broken by Patrick Furbay in the boys 15-18 year old 100M Backstroke in a time of 1:01.78 and Kate Pottle, who set three three team records in the girls 15-18 year old in the 100M Freestyle in a time of 1:01.56, the 400M Freestyle in a time of 4:45.18, the 100M Butterfly in a time of 1:09.62.

The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina’s Cape Fear Aquatic Club is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of all abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

Tryouts for the 2018-2019 season will take place at the Wilmington Family YMCA Pool between 3:30pm-6:00pm on the following dates:

August 20, 2018 - 8 & unders

August 21, 2018 - 9-10

August 22, 2018 - 11-12

August 23, 2018 – 13+
