Kick It with the YMCA On National Soccer Day

Lace up those cleats and bring your game face! The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina invites families to celebrate National Soccer Day with a free community event on Monday, July 28, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Nir Family YMCA, located at 2710 Market Street in Wilmington.
Designed for children ages 2 to 14, this fun-filled evening will feature soccer clinics, skill-building games, and friendly competition—all in the spirit of movement, teamwork, and community connection. Whether your child is kicking a ball for the first time or already a soccer superfan, there’s something for every young athlete.
"Soccer brings people together," said Lee Spooner, Director of Athletics at the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina. "We’re excited to offer a free event that gives kids a chance to play, grow, and enjoy the game alongside others in our community."
Held annually on July 28, National Soccer Day celebrates one of the most popular sports in the world—and this year, the YMCA is proud to join in with a local twist. With more than 17 million Americans tuning in to watch soccer every year, this event is a great way to get off the sidelines and into the game. Come celebrate the joy of soccer with us—we’ll see you on the field!
