Community Champion: Karen Rodriguez Ayala Recognized for Anti-Hunger Work

YMCA’s Karen Rodriguez Ayala Awarded Anti-Hunger All Star Certificate

We are proud to share that our Food Services Specialist, Karen Rodriguez Ayala, has been recognized by YMCA of the USA as an Anti-Hunger All Star for 2025!

Karen worked tirelessly this summer to ensure our Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) meal sites were staffed, equipped, and ready to serve. She loaded vans with food, coordinated with volunteers, and was always willing to take on extra tasks to support our community.

“She always says yes to the extras that occur. Food insecurity is a passion, and she does her best to fight it. I see Karen continuing to be a strong supporter of all things food insecurity and doing all that she can to see our area’s needs met,” says Amy Hobbs, Director of Food Services.
