A First for Sampson County: YMCA Unveils New Preschool Program
December 9, 2025
The Sampson County YMCA is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever preschool program, marking a major expansion of services in the county and bringing early childhood care and education to local families for the first time.
The new preschool offering reflects the YMCA’s commitment to meeting community needs and supporting families, providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for young children. With this program, Sampson County joins other Y branches across Southeastern North Carolina in delivering quality early learning that’s consistent with YMCA standards.
“Introducing a preschool here has been a long-time goal,” said Bill Nunez, Executive Director of the Sampson County YMCA. “We recognize the need for reliable, high-quality early childhood support in Sampson County, and we are thrilled to open our doors to families who have been looking for exactly this.”
The Southeastern YMCA preschool programs are designed to develop children's self-esteem and self-image through a fun and structured environment. Utilizing the ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum, activities include group playtime, music, movement, fine and gross motor skill development, and Bible stories that will help develop the whole child in a Christian-oriented setting. Children will be supported by experienced and dedicated staff who prioritize safety, enrichment, and encouragement, while families can take advantage of convenient scheduling and affordable options designed to meet the needs of the community.
This new program represents a significant milestone for the Sampson County YMCA and underscores its evolving role as a cornerstone for family support, education, and community development in Sampson County.
