Midtown YMCA Enhances Child Watch Space to Better Serve Local Families
Families at the Midtown YMCA will notice a fresh new look in the Child Watch area, where recent updates have created a more engaging, welcoming environment for young children.
The improvements are part of the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina’s ongoing commitment to supporting families and removing barriers to health and wellness. Child Watch provides free, drop-in care for member children, ages 6 weeks to 11 years, available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., while parents remain in the facility. At Midtown, the refreshed space now offers expanded opportunities for imaginative play, early learning, and quiet reading.
Child Watch plays a critical role in helping parents prioritize their health without worrying about childcare. By offering nurturing supervision and structured activities such as games, crafts, and active play, the program allows caregivers to fully engage in their wellness routines, whether that means attending a group exercise class, using the fitness center, or simply taking time to recharge.
The Child Watch enhancements are one more way the Midtown YMCA continues to live out its mission of strengthening families, encouraging healthy development for children, and helping individuals of all ages thrive.
