YMCA Hosts Its 12th Annual Breakfast for Community
The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina proudly hosted its 12th Annual Breakfast for Community on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Nir Family YMCA, bringing together community leaders, elected officials, business partners, donors, and supporters in celebration of the YMCA’s mission and impact across the region.
This year’s event featured Jeff Bourk, Director of the Wilmington International Airport (ILM), as keynote speaker. Bourk shared insights on the tremendous growth taking place across southeastern North Carolina and shared the vision and plans to expand our very own Wilmington International Airport (ILM).

The Breakfast for Community serves as the YMCA’s signature Annual Giving Campaign event, helping ensure that individuals and families throughout southeastern North Carolina have access to YMCA memberships, programs, summer camp experiences, swim lessons, youth sports, wellness initiatives, and life-changing opportunities regardless of financial circumstances.
This year’s event raised more than $249,000 in support of the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign. Funds raised will provide income-based membership rates, program scholarships, and critical support services that allow the Y to continue serving children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout the community.
