Few things are more inviting than a bright blue, sparkling pool. And at the Wilmington Family Y, we have two of them ready for year-round swim lessons, water aerobics, family fun, competitive swimming and more. So whether you’re a parent looking to help your little swimmer improve their stroke or a senior working to stay fit and socially connected, the Y has a pool, program or class for you.
At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill. In swim lessons, we use a variety of methods to help kids and adults overcome fears, build confidence in the water, learn water safety and develop skills that last a lifetime.
Kids can take their skills to the next level and build confidence in our year-round swim team program. Our Cape Fear Aquatics Club Swim Team gives kids the opportunity to work on strokes, build endurance and participate in meets in a positive and fun atmosphere.
As a part of the Cape Fear Aquatics Club, this program is for kids who really enjoy the water and are interested in getting a swim team experience during the summer.
Cape Fear Aquatics Club Masters Swim is a competitive swim program for numerous types of swimmers; beginners as well as seasoned triathletes, lap swimmers, and swimmers that just want a group workout.
Many people within our community often do not learn the critical water safety and swimming skills to keep them safe. The Y is working to address this important issue by offering Swim for Life, a free water safety and swimming program.
Gain the skills and knowledge you need to provide care and act in an emergency with training or certification in CPR, first aid, or life-guarding.
Adults looking to challenge themselves without stress on their joints or members who enjoy the water can take advantage of the Y's Water Aerobics classes. During the summer season, Y Members are welcome to participate in Water Aerobics classes offered at Legion Stadium and Robert Strange Pools for free.
