Healthy Weight And Your Child

Do you have a child who is carrying excess weight? Would you like support to help you and your child make healthy lifestyle changes?

Through the YMCA's Evidence Based Healthy Weight & Your Child Program, you will meet others who share similar challenges. This program offers guidance with making lifestyle changes to help you and your child develop awareness, improve healthy eating, and discover fun ways to get more active.

This program is cost-efficient and effective in reducing a child’s body mass index, weight circumference, and sedentary behaviors and increasing physical activity and improving self-esteem.

This is a 15-week program. Classes are 2 hours long and meet twice a week for the first 10 weeks and then once a week for 5 weeks. We require families to attend an information session, or contact us to first see if their child qualifies for this program before registering.
