Healthy Weight And Your Child
Do you have a child who is carrying excess weight? Would you like support to help you and your child make some healthy lifestyle changes? Through the YMCA Evidence Based Healthy Weight & Your Child Program, you will have others in the group who also share similar challenges. This program offers guidance with making lifestyle changes to help you and your child develop the awareness and improve healthy eating as well as discovering fun ways to get more active.
This is a 15 week program. Classes are 2 hours long and meet twice a week for the first 10 weeks and then once a week for 5 weeks. We require families to attend an information session, or contact us to first see if their child qualifies for this program before registering.
June - Families will need to contact the Coordinator to schedule a time for caregiver and child to meet at YMCA with the Leaders. Families will meet leaders, learn about the program, the child's height and weight will be measured for baseline data. For enrollment, caregivers will need to complete and sign the enrollment forms during the Information Session at the location in their area(see below).
