Middle School Wellness Training
This 8-week program puts adolescences on the right track to begin their lifelong fitness and strength journeys through weightlifting and exercise. Participants will use pre-selected workouts from a specialized curriculum overseen by our certified personal trainers and fitness specialists.
- Learn how to use proper weightlifting techniques
- Become knowledgeable on what exercises work different muscle group
- Avoid fitness-related injuries
- Understand the importance and usefulness of this information
Requirements
- Dress in proper attire (t-shirt, shorts, leggings, athletic shoes)
- Bring water or a bottle to fill up
- Not participate on an empty stomach (recommendation)
- Positive attitude and willingness to work

Advanced Middle School Weight Training
Through an eight-week program, overseen by our certified personal trainers and fitness specialists. This class is designed for middle school students with prior weight training experience who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Participants will focus on improving technique, building strength, and enhancing overall fitness. Emphasis will be placed on proper form, safe lifting practices, and developing a personalized strength routine. This class is perfect for young athletes or those looking to advance their training in a supportive environment.

Girls on Fitness
Empower your middle schooler with strength, confidence, and healthy habits! Girls on Fitness is a dynamic 8-week training program designed specifically for girls in grades 6–8. Led by certified YMCA fitness staff, this twice-weekly class blends group exercise, introductory weight lifting, and fun fitness fundamentals in a supportive, all-girls environment.
Participants will also be introduced to the YMCA’s Healthy Living principles, focusing on physical activity, positive self-image, and overall well-being.
