Just like indoor, Outdoor One-on-One Personal Training involves one or more regular outdoor training sessions using equipment brought outside as needed designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. Your certified personal trainer will work with you and your schedule to develop a personalized fitness program. Whether you are just beginning your fitness plan, need help refining your workouts or want to push your boundaries, outdoor personal training can be adapted to every fitness level. A well-balanced fitness plan is crucial to healthy and safe workouts. Our personal trainers can help you reach your goals in the most effective and beneficial way for your specific needs.
That said, we are excited to offer a virtual personal training option to help you continue on your wellness journey during this time of social distancing. Personal training rates will remain the same as those previously redeemed in our YMCA facilities.

- A safe space at home to participate in these virtual workouts

Post-Physical Therapy Training
Have you been released from physical therapy and just need a little extra guidance? Our personal trainers can work with your injury and your physical therapist to create a plan to get you back on track.
Are you having challenges with range of motion during your regular workout or feeling imbalanced where one side of the body is stronger and/or more mobile than the other? Our personal trainers can assess your mobility challenges and prescribe a plan to get you where you want to be.
Weight Lifting for Teens
Is your son or daughter involved in high school sports and they're using the weight room at school? Our personal trainers can work with your child to ensure they learn proper technique for a lifetime of health and wellness.
Get fit with a friend, partner, spouse or GROUP! Partner personal training involves one or more regular, partner training sessions designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. Under the guidance of a certified personal trainer, you’ll take part in customized training sessions that are fun and challenging.
Train with one of our swim technique coaches to improve your swimming techniques and skills. Stroke technique personal training will provide you with new training ideas and individualized workouts to further your knowledge and technique. This type of training is for all levels of swimmers whether they are competitive triathletes or individuals interested in improving their stroke efficiency.
I am a transplant from New York and am settled in to my new home in Wilmington, NC. My fitness career officially started in 1996 (when I was 12, haha) when I became AFAA Certified in Group Exercise. I have always had a passion for sports and fitness. I had to be one of the few that actually looked forward to physical education in school. I played softball, volleyball and basketball both competitively and recreationally. I currently hold certifications in personal training, spinning, SilverSneakers, TRX and Kettlebell. I have been teaching for over 20 years and truly love that I can help others achieve their fitness goals. Whether you’ve been working out for a while or just starting this journey, know that I am here to help. Some of my favorite classes to teach are Boot Camp and Straps to name a few. My favorite type of training is creating HIIT workouts to keep your metabolism burning calories even after your workout is over. I enjoy running 5Ks and have a lot of energy. Raised in La Jolla, Ca. I have always loved being active. Whether I was competing in Hunter Jumper equestrian events with my horse or traveling to gymnastics competitions I was constantly busy. I graduated from Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and began an acting career in Los Angeles. After I married and had children I found CrossFit and it was love at first lift!! I’ve now devoted myself to helping others fall in love with fitness as well. A trainer and instructor at the Y for almost 10 years, I am extremely passionate about what I do and it shows in my work. I believe fitness is not a one size fits all and that every client needs a personal approach to their fitness journey. I set goals and work with my clients to create their own personalized program. My appreciation for how important health and wellness began as a teenager when my Mother lost a sibling, and her parents early in their lives within a 5 year span due to health complications. I grew up participating in a variety of sports, but my love for running began while attending UNCW and working in the Wilmington community. My interest in endurance training did not begin until my father, a retired marine, was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease & I wanted to dedicate my time to something difficult too. I decided to participate in a triathlon. As his journey continued so did my aspirations, and I completed the B2B Half Ironman in 2013. I have had the privilege to learn personally that exercise is academic & there are medically based guidelines that can help any age group or fitness level reach their goal. I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of individuals varying from early adolescence, postural correction, sport specific, prenatal/post partum, and aging population. Everyone has a different goal for health & fitness, but the method for change is the same. I have always loved what the Y stands for and have participated in several GOTR programs and races. Being born and raised in Wilmington, NC has developed into a love for the place that I live and an appreciation for this community. I found my passion for sports and fitness through my experiences playing basketball growing up. During my college experience at UNC - Wilmington, I majored in Exercise Science and my infatuation for fitness was taken to new heights. I look forward to sharing my my knowledge and experience in the field of health and wellness with others, as well as continue my personal pursuit to be the best I can be every day!
