Swim Teams

 

Our Foundations program is geared toward swimmers who don’t yet have the necessary skill, background, and/or time commitment for a year-round competitive swim team. The program will focus on the fundamentals of swimming, with each level building on the previous one to ensure swimmers are swim meet ready once they make the leap to the competitive side of the pool.

 

 

 

This program is for kids who enjoy the water and are interested in getting a swim team experience and being a part of the Wilmington summer swim league. Participants will be split into different groups on the first day based on age, skill performance and endurance. Kids are encouraged to come to every practice and will be competing in meets throughout the summer.

 

 

 

 

The YMCA partners with Waves of Wilmington (WOW) for our youth competitive swim team. The WOW Swim Team is a year-round program serving the Cape Fear region/tri-county area (New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick). The program serves swimmers age 5 years and older.
