Y-Zone Small Group Training

Get inspired. Get together. Get Results. 

Y-Zone is the YMCA's new, state of the art, small group personal training program. In a 1200 sqft studio at the Nir Family YMCA, participants choose from 3 different Y-Zone programs. The programs integrate heart rate monitoring from MyZone. 

Who is Y-Zone Designed For?

Y-Zone programs are for all fitness levels. Sessions provide the right intensity to take your fitness to the “next level.” Because your workout is guided by your heart rate, your session will be tailored to your individual fitness level. And, you have the support and attention of a trainer to help you reach your goals.

Y-Zone Classes

BURN 
Looking to take your workouts to a whole new level?  Burn is the answer. This 45 minute high intensity workout will focus on challenging muscular and cardiovascular strength and endurance.  Incorporating a series of total body movements will activate multiple muscle groups, this metabolic workout is a game changer to reach your fitness goals.

CIRCUIT
Want to achieve maximum results with less impact on the joints?  Circuit is the answer. We will provide a unique full-body workout that helps you to work all areas of the body.  This program will help you move better, lose weight and strength/tone your muscle.  Delivered in a fun and energetic way, you’ll love what Circuit has to offer.

RECOVER
Getting your heart rate up and sweating is always great, but it has to be met with a time to refresh your body and that’s where Recover comes in. This low-intensity program focuses on three key components of fitness:  Flexibility, Mobility and Stability.  Delivered in a fashion that allows you to learn by doing, your body will thank you after each and every session.

Y-Zone Burn and Circuit classes are held in our state-of-the-art Y-Zone studio at the Nir Family YMCA.

What Does It Cost to Participate?

Y-Zone is available to Y Members only

$10 per class for 1x week
$8.50 per class for 2x week
$7.41 per class for 3x week 

Drop-In Workouts
$15 per class

Body Changing

Class Logistics

Required: Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of their first Y-Zone class. This is to get the MyZone monitor registered/fitted as well as to orient to the room. If a participant does not arrive early for their first class are given two options. One, to defer their first class to the following week or proceed with the first class without the heart rate monitoring. 

Not Required: MyZone MZ3 Belt. We will have loaners available for class however we encourage participants to invest in their own monitor. However, monitors are not required for participation in the program. 

Myzone

Myzone is an innovative wearable heart rate based system that uses wireless and cloud technology to accurately and conveniently monitor physical activity. It is highly successful due to its accuracy at 99.4$ EKG. It is useful for anyone who wants a gamified and motivating wearable. Myzone monitors heart rate, calories and time exercising in real time and converts that into Myzone Effort Points (MEPs).

What Makes Myzone Different?

Myzone aims to help people feel good about exercise through technology. Unlike many others, Myzone is the only physical activity tracking platform based on the WHO's Physical Activity Guidelines. It uses a game-based platform and social experience that rewards effort not fitness, motivating users to reach their personal bests.

About the MZ3 Belt Heart Rate Monitor

The MZ3 Belt enhances your workout by helping you understand your heart rate zone and maximize your fitness potential. This technology syncs with most Bluetooth devices and will project on a big screen TV during Y-Zone training. The free MyZone app will give you history and details of your workouts, as well as provide MyZone Heart Rate Match workouts. Retail price on Amazon is $129. Myzone App

The Myzone App gives real-time feedback during each workout to encourage effort in the moment. The app is user-friendly and intuitive, allowing you to see results anywhere, anytime. You can compete and connect with friends, view workout history, enjoy social sharing, leaderboards, and build a community. The Myzone app works for both android
and iOS and stores the data.
