Races & Triathlons

The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina hosts a number of races and triathlons throughout the year. Proceeds from many of these events benefit our programs like Girls on the Run, STRIDE, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Safety Around Water and more. Your race entry fee will help to continue to support the kids, adults and families that benefit from these programs.

The EmergeOrtho 5K is a celebratory ending 5K for New Hanover, Pender, Duplin, Brunswick and Sampson County Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. All proceeds benefit the Girls on the Run and STRIDE Council of Coastal Carolina.

Benefiting LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

Show your support for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA as you run through historic downtown Wilmington along the picturesque Cape Fear Riverwalk. The Tri-Span Race is the oldest 3-bridge 10K course on the east coast.

The YMCA’s Pier 2 Pier Race, in memory of Ryan Young, is an open water ocean swimming event held at beautiful Wrightsville Beach, NC. The swim is approximately 2 miles point-to-point between Johnny Mercer Pier and Crystal Pier with prevailing current.

Benefiting YMCA's Annual Campaign

Be a part of the longest-running sprint triathlon in the nation! Founded in 1979, as the Pepsi Triathlon, the YMCA Wrightsville Beach Sprint Triathlon has become a favorite event among locals and triathletes near and far. Today the event is comprised of the traditional sprint triathlon, a youth triathlon and a corporate relay challenge.

William H. Craig Race for Life 5K & 10K

Benefiting The Bill Craig Memorial Fund

This race was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Bill Craig and his many contributions to the community. Funds from this event will provide financial support on an annual basis to programs that Dr. Craig supported, especially those involving children in need. This year's race will feature a 5K and 10K option! Join us for a Coastal Christmas theme and jingle all the way through the finish line!
