My favorite part of camp is watching campers do something brave — often small, personal moments that lead to big smiles, excited stories, or amazed tears. Those moments remind me why camp is so special. My favorite spot is the outdoor chapel because it’s peaceful, beautiful, and full of the sounds of camp. Camp matters to our community because it’s one of the last magical places where kids can truly be kids — swimming, exploring, laughing, and growing in confidence and character. Campfires, s’mores, and silly songs really do spark growth, helping kids build friendships, find support, and discover who they are.
Lily Sager
Director of Camping and Outdoor Education
Camp quickly became more than just a place to spend the summer; it became a community where creativity, adventure, and friendships thrive. One of my favorite places is around the craft table where I let my imagination roam free. I also enjoy a great campfire where campers can express themselves, share stories, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Director of Outdoor Aquatics & Retreats

Raquel “Ray” Gabin returns to Camp Kirkwood as Director of Outdoor Aquatics and Retreats. Ray thrives on the way camp quickly becomes its own world—full of inside jokes, shared moments, and a language all its own. Known for her ability to learn and remember every camper’s name after day one, she helps create an instant sense of belonging. Her advice to new campers is simple: there’s no right or wrong way to do camp—just your way. And when it comes to s’mores, she goes for the perfect balance: a golden toasted shell with a gooey, stretchable center.

My favorite part of camp is watching campers build confidence, make friends, and try new things. I also enjoy meeting new people. My favorite spot is the kitchen! Camp matters because it pushes kids to step outside their comfort zones and discover their strengths, and that confidence ripples back into our community.

My favorite part of camp is hanging by the campfire, singing silly songs, and making lasting friendships. My favorite spot is relaxing in a hammock by Cabin 7. Camp is important to our community because it offers a safe, welcoming space where everyone can grow, learn, and try new things. It builds strong bonds, helps young people gain confidence and empathy, and fosters a sense of belonging that carries far beyond camp. It truly shapes how we care for and support one another.

Engagement and Registration Coordinator

Molly Giffin is excited to welcome new and returning families to Camp Kirkwood and create the kind of moments campers carry with them for life. She believes camp is where some of the most meaningful, unforgettable memories are made. Known for fully embracing the fun, Molly’s camp superpower is always being ready for theme weeks—often with an extra costume on standby. Around the campfire, she prefers her marshmallow fully committed: on fire, perfectly charred, with a molten center.
